Landing Pages for Google Ads in Singapore

Updated 17 October 2026

Short answer: send Google Ads traffic to a page built for the one search the ad targets, not to your home page. The page needs the offer and its price in the first screen, one next step, your company identity, and a load time under 2.5 seconds on a phone. Google disapproves ads when the destination is broken, mismatched, blocked to its crawler or thin. Conversion tracking goes in before the first paid click.

Sources are Google's Ads policies and help pages and the Unbounce 2024 Conversion Benchmark Report, checked 17 October 2026.

Should ads go to the home page or a landing page?

A landing page. Google scores every keyword's landing page experience as "How relevant and useful your landing page is to people who click your ad" and reports it as Above average, Average or Below average against other advertisers over the past 90 days (Google Ads Help). A home page serves every visitor. A landing page serves the one person who typed "corporate secretary Singapore price".

Google's own list of fixes for a weak score reads as a landing page brief (Google Ads Help):

  • Give people what they searched for, on the page they land on.
  • Keep the message the same from ad to page.
  • Make the page work on a phone.
  • Cut load time.

Google also states that Quality Score is a diagnostic and not an input to the ad auction. The page still matters, because the same signals feed ad quality at auction time.

Benchmark: Unbounce's 2024 report, drawn from 41,000 landing pages and 57 million conversions, puts the median landing page conversion rate at 6.6%, and 10.9% for paid search traffic (Unbounce). A home page that converts 1% to 2% of ad clicks pays 3 to 5 times more per enquiry than a page at the median.

What must a landing page contain?

One page, one search, one action. The checklist:

  • A headline that repeats the search. If the ad says "PDPA audit from S$1,500", the H1 says the same.
  • The offer and its price or range in the first screen. Google's misrepresentation policy bars failing "to clearly and conspicuously disclose the payment model or full expense that a user will bear" (Google Ads policy).
  • Who you are. Registered company name, UEN, address and a phone or WhatsApp number. The same policy bars "obscuring, or omitting material information about your identity, affiliations, or qualifications".
  • Proof. Client names with permission, project counts, years in business, licences, recent reviews.
  • One call to action, repeated. WhatsApp or a short form. A form past 4 fields loses the people who were half convinced. See WhatsApp vs contact form.
  • No main navigation. Every link off the page is a paid click that leaves.
  • Plain words. Unbounce found pages written at a 5th to 7th grade reading level converted at 11.1% against 5.3% for pages written at professional level.
  • Speed. Google's Core Web Vitals threshold for Largest Contentful Paint is 2.5 seconds at the 75th percentile of page loads (web.dev). Test on the mobile tab of PageSpeed Insights. Unbounce measured 83% of landing page visits on mobile.

Why do ads get disapproved for the destination?

Google's Destination requirements policy lists the reasons (Google Ads policy). The common ones on Singapore SME sites:

  • Destination not working. The page returns an error to a visitor, or returns an error to Google's AdsBot crawler specifically. Expired HTTPS certificates and staging passwords cause this.
  • Destination mismatch. The display URL domain differs from the final URL, or the final URL redirects to another domain. A page on a builder subdomain behind a vanity display URL fails here.
  • Destination not crawlable. Google Ads must be able to crawl the page. Google documents that AdsBot-Google ignores the wildcard rule in robots.txt, so only a rule that names AdsBot-Google blocks it (Google Search Central). Firewalls and bot filters that challenge every visitor are the usual cause.
  • Insufficient original content. The policy names content "replicated from another source without adding value", pages "solely designed to send users elsewhere" and pages that exist mainly to show ads. A one-screen page with a form and no description of the service can be read this way.
  • Destination experience. Pages that are "unnecessarily difficult or frustrating to navigate", pop-ups that cover the content, or links that start a download.

Fix order: load the URL over HTTPS from a phone on mobile data, read robots.txt, confirm the final URL domain matches the display URL, then request a review in the Ads account. A malware flag is a separate case: clean the site first, then ask for review.

How do I track enquiries from ads?

Without tracking, Google's bidding optimises for clicks and you pay for visits rather than enquiries. Set-up in order (Google Ads Help):

  1. Install the Google tag on every page, or link Google Analytics 4 if you already run it.
  2. Create one conversion action per enquiry type: form submitted, WhatsApp button clicked, phone number tapped.
  3. For a form, fire the conversion on the thank-you page or on the submit event, not on a view of the form.
  4. If you import from GA4, mark the events as key events first. Google states only key events are eligible for import and that the options take 24 to 48 hours to appear in Google Ads.
  5. Turn on enhanced conversions so the hashed email or phone from the form can be matched to the click.
  6. Store every enquiry in your own database with the campaign and keyword that produced it. Ad platform reports age out; your records do not.

Checks each month:

  • Enquiries counted in Google Ads against enquiries in your inbox or database. A gap over 10% means a broken tag.
  • Cost per enquiry by keyword, not cost per click.
  • Enquiry to quote and quote to sale by keyword, so the keyword that produces cheap but useless leads is paused.

What does a landing page cost?

Three routes.

RoutePriceWhat you getTrade-off
Builder pageAbout US$10 to US$18 a month on yearly plans (Framer, Wix)A template page you edit yourselfYour hours; copy quality; the page stays on the builder
Stand-alone page from a studioEstimate S$800 to S$2,500Custom copy, design and trackingOne page with no wider site
Page as part of a new sitecense Website tier, quoted in full after one callLanding pages share the site's design, forms and databaseLarger upfront spend

The studio figure is cense's estimate of the Singapore market in October 2026, not a published rate card, so request quotes. Published figures for full sites are in website design cost in Singapore.

Spend on copy and tracking before design. A plain page that states the price and gets a WhatsApp reply within 5 minutes outperforms an animated page that does neither.

What cense does

cense builds landing pages as part of a Next.js site the client owns, with conversion tracking set up and a form that writes every enquiry to the client's own database instead of a third-party form tool. First draft 14 days after one call, up to 20 rounds of edits. Details on web design in Singapore.

Should Google Ads send traffic to my home page?

No. Google scores each keyword on how relevant and useful the landing page is to the person who clicked. A page built for the one search the ad targets scores higher and converts more than a home page that serves everyone.

Why was my ad disapproved for destination not working?

The page returned an error to a visitor or to Google's AdsBot crawler. Expired HTTPS certificates, password-protected staging pages and bot-blocking firewalls are the usual causes. Fix the page, then request a review.

How fast should a Google Ads landing page load?

Under 2.5 seconds for the largest visible element at the 75th percentile of mobile visits, which is Google's Core Web Vitals threshold for Largest Contentful Paint. Test on the mobile tab of PageSpeed Insights.

How do I track WhatsApp enquiries from Google Ads?

Create a conversion action that fires when the WhatsApp button is clicked, through the Google tag or a GA4 key event imported into Google Ads. Store the click and its campaign in your own database as well.

How much does a landing page cost in Singapore?

Builder plans start at about US$10 to US$18 a month. A stand-alone custom page from a studio is an estimated S$800 to S$2,500. As part of a new site, cense quotes its Website tier in full after one call.
