Web Designer Rates in Singapore: Hourly, Per Page, Per Project

Updated 18 October 2026

Short answer: published hourly rates in Singapore run from S$30 for a junior freelancer to S$140 for a senior developer, and S$100 to S$400 for agencies. Per page, packages imply S$250 to S$500 for design and build, and copy is published at S$250 to S$600 a page. Per project, published packages start at S$899 for one page and S$2,500 for 5 pages. A rate tells you the cost of an hour. It does not tell you how many hours, who owns the result or what year two costs.

Published figures below are from each company's own pages, with the date stated.

What are the hourly rates by provider type?

Two notes on method:

  • Solohourly's rates are derived from a target income of S$90,000 a year, a 17% tax allowance and 1,200 billable hours. They are a model, not a survey.
  • For scale, the Ministry of Manpower puts the median gross monthly income of full-time employed residents at S$5,775 in 2025, including employer CPF. Over 160 hours that is about S$36 an hour employed. A freelancer bills perhaps 25 hours a week and carries tax, tools and unpaid admin, which is why a S$36 salary hour becomes a S$50 to S$85 billed hour.

What are the per-page and per-project rates?

Per page

Few providers publish a per-page price. Packages imply one:

  • Singapore Best Web Design: from S$2,500 for up to 5 pages, about S$500 a page at the top of the range, and from S$4,500 for 10 to 15 pages, about S$300 to S$450 a page.
  • SG Web Builder: S$1,999 for 5 to 8 pages, about S$250 to S$400 a page.
  • Copywriting: WE Interactive publishes S$250 to S$600 a page. Add it when the package excludes copy, which most do.

Per project

  • SG Web Builder: S$899 for 1 landing page, S$1,499 to S$1,999 for 5 to 8 pages.
  • Singapore Best Web Design: from S$2,500, S$4,500 and S$6,500 by tier.
  • OOm: from S$3,000.
  • Terris, 5 to 10 pages: S$500 to S$2,000 budget, S$1,500 to S$6,000 experienced freelancer, S$3,000 to S$12,000 boutique studio, S$5,000 to S$25,000 mid-tier agency.
  • Mapletree Media: S$3,500 to S$5,000 small business, S$6,000 to S$35,000 corporate.
  • cense: Website from S$2,000, quoted in full after one call.

Per month

  • Design Magic: S$97 a month for a one-page site with hosting and edits, S$1,164 a year.
  • Wix Light: US$17.77 a month on yearly billing, about US$213 a year, with you doing the work.

The low end of this market is covered in cheap website design in Singapore.

What does a rate not tell you?

  • Hours. S$60 an hour for 80 hours is S$4,800. S$150 an hour for 25 hours is S$3,750. The rate was lower; the bill was higher.
  • Who does the hours. The senior rate may be quoted and a junior may build.
  • Edit rounds. Singapore Best Web Design states 2 to 3 UAT rounds. cense states up to 20. On an hourly contract, every round is billed.
  • Ownership. No rate card states who holds the domain, hosting and code.
  • Year two. Awebstar values the hosting in its packages at S$600 to S$900 a year after the free year. SG Web Builder bills S$80 an hour for maintenance. Neither appears in a build rate.
  • Copy and photos. Excluded from most rates and most packages.

How do you convert a quote into an hourly figure?

For a fixed quote:

  1. Ask for the hour estimate by phase: design, build, content loading, testing, project management.
  2. Add the hours.
  3. Divide the price by the hours.
  4. Compare the result with the table above and with the provider's own stated rate.

Example: S$4,500 for a 12-page site. At 60 hours the effective rate is S$75 an hour, in line with an experienced freelancer. At 30 hours it is S$150 an hour, in line with a mid-tier agency. Same price, different answer, and the hours tell you how much attention each page gets.

For an hourly quote, do the reverse: ask for the hour estimate, multiply, and ask for a not-to-exceed figure in the contract.

If a provider will not estimate hours, stop converting. Compare the 3-year total instead: build price, plus 2 years of hosting, licences and maintenance, plus copy. The website design cost guide sets out that calculation.

Every figure is a published starting point. The quote you receive depends on pages, copy and integrations, which is why the hours question matters more than the rate.

What cense does

cense does not bill by the hour. A website is from S$2,000, quoted in full after one call, with copy written, up to 20 rounds of edits and a first draft in 14 days. The client owns the domain, code, hosting and data. See the pricing page.
