Should every store leave Shopify?+
No. Shopify fits large catalogues and complex inventory. For a focused range, a store you own with Stripe has no monthly plan and no platform fee.
What exports from Shopify?+
Products, customers and orders as CSV files, and inventory as CSV. Theme code is yours to download. Discount codes and gift cards are recreated.
Can we keep a domain bought through Shopify?+
Yes. Shopify-managed domains can be transferred 60 days after purchase; the transfer must finish within 30 days of starting. Or leave it at Shopify and point its records to the new store.
Will product pages keep their rankings?+
Yes. Each product and collection address is kept or redirected one to one, with the same text and better structured data.
What does the migration cost?+
Quoted in full before we start, after the Day 0 call. There is no monthly maintenance fee afterwards.
Who owns the new website?+
You do: the domain, the code, the hosting account and the database.
